Carisbrooke Shipping shortlisted for two national Maritime UK Awards

We are proud to announce that Carisbrooke Shipping has been named a finalist in two categories at the 2025 Maritime UK Awards:

  • Business of the Year – sponsored by Liverpool John Moores University
Recognises outstanding business performance, strategic vision and a clear commitment to advancing the UK maritime sector.

  • Technology & Innovation Award – sponsored by Telana
Honours organisations that have overcome a specific maritime challenge through the development and deployment of an innovative product or service.

Being shortlisted in both categories affirms our open approach to innovation. In the last 12 months we have:

  • Installed and class-approved the AirWing rigid wingsail on Vectis Progress, demonstrating wind-assisted propulsion on a working 130 m cargo vessel.

  • Advanced a hydrogen-electric engine to Bureau Veritas Approval-in-Principle Stage 2, with sea trials scheduled for later this year.

  • Supported a wider £11 million CMDC portfolio covering ammonia power, hydrogen shore supply and AI-driven wing-trim optimisation.

We extend sincere thanks to Maritime UK and this year’s judging panel, to our project partners – Maritime & Coastguard Agency, GT Wings, Carnot Ltd, Bureau Veritas, and many others – and, above all, to our crews and shore staff whose expertise keeps innovation afloat – Thank you for your continued support.

Congratulations to the outstanding companies shortlisted alongside us and we look forward to celebrating together at the awards ceremony in Dover on 26 June 2025.
