Investment Opportunities
Traditionally, ships are financed by Private Investors. The biggest example of this lies in the history of commercial shipping in Holland with the establishment of the VOC in 1602. The VOC, United East India Company, was a chartered company when the States General of the Netherlands granted it a 21-year monopoly to carry out trade activities in Asia. It is often considered to have been the first multinational corporation in the world and was the first company to issue stock to finance its vessels. Carisbrooke Shipping has taken this concept and gives private investors investment opportunities in modern coastal vessels in the various countries of origin. This allows them to not only take advantage of Carisbrooke Shipping’s shipping knowledge, but also tax incentive schemes which could leverage their investment.
For investors who aspire to greater involvement within the organization, Carisbrooke Shipping offers the unique option of Private Placement whereby the investor may co-own a vessel with the Company (and sometimes with the private assets of company shareholders). This personal involvement makes for a close working relationship.
With Private Placement, Carisbrooke Shipping offers an interesting investment opportunity to a small number of investors. The investor and the Company will work closely together, providing short lines of communication and personal contact is guaranteed.
