Carisbrooke Shipping secured major victories at The Seafarers’ Charity annual 24 Peaks Challenge, sweeping top honours including Fastest Team, Top Fundraiser, and the Ship’s Log Award. The demanding endurance event took place over the weekend of 4-5 July 2026 across the rugged terrain of the Lake District.

The flagship maritime event required participants to conquer 24 peaks over 2,400 feet, covering 33 miles (53 km) and a staggering 13,000 feet (4,000 m) of ascent within a strict 24-hour walking limit.

Carisbrooke Shipping’s athletes and fundraisers demonstrated exceptional physical grit and logistical coordination, capturing three of the event’s premier accolades:

• Fastest Team Award: Won by the Carisbrooke Shipping team who set the quickest aggregate pace across the gruelling mountain course.
• Top Fundraiser Award: Earned by Carisbrooke veteran Robert Wester, whose stellar individual campaign topped the donation charts to support maritime workers.
• The Ship’s Log Award: Presented to Michael Wester for maintaining the most outstanding and detailed chronicle of the team’s preparation and mountain journey.

A Tradition of Support

Carisbrooke Shipping has been a regular contender in the 24 Peaks Challenge since 2006. This year’s victory adds to a multi-decade legacy of raising vital funding for The Seafarers’ Charity, which provides life-changing financial aid to merchant navy, fishery, and maritime workers and their families globally.
