Each pool is, typically, a series of sister ships, or aims for a strong degree of uniformity and/or complementary technical attributes. We have witnessed these evolve and perform through the respective peaks and troughs of what has been arguably the most volatile period in dry cargo shipping history.

We believe that, over the course of a full market cycle, a continuously run and well-managed pool offers an attractive combination of the best long-term average return, a stable cash-flow projection mechanism and the least downside risk during weak moments in the cycle.
